Michael J Sutton holds his PhD in Knowledge Management from McGill
University. He achieved his PhD in 2007 from McGill University in Montreal,
Quebec, after a career of more than 35+ years in management consulting,
information systems consulting, entrepreneurship, and corporate executive
management. His doctorate is cross-disciplinary, and relates directly to
knowledge management, organizational behavior, leadership/ teamship,
entrepreneurship, management, marketing, talent management, and strategy. Since
joining the academy 19 years ago, he has demonstrated his success as an
educator and researcher in higher education. He is a Fellow of the
Business Excellence Institute (FBEI) and was awarded the Outstanding
Author Contribution Award Winner at the Emerald Literati Network Awards for
Excellence 2013.
Michael built his reputation as a Game-Based Learning Innovator, Architect, and Edupreneur. He is the Founder and Chief Game-Based Learning Officer of FUNIFICATION, applying research and consultation focusing upon architecting and delivering immersive environments using serious games, workshops, and simulations for leadership development and coaching/mentoring. Michael has delivered serious games and simulation workshops and courses for universities around the world including Texas A&M, Boise State University, Westminster College, Anaheim University, Prescott College, Grand Canyon University, and Kent State University.
